Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of businesses do you work with?
I work with all kinds of businesses and business types. Each business industry usually has a common set of expenses. I have worked with most industries previously and can determine if you might be missing some types of expenses or if some might be lower than expected. More often than not, the client will have additional expenses that may have been paid personally, or maybe by determining that the auto mileage method is better than the actual expense method, or by virtue of many other reasons.
Should I incorporate?
I can present the alternatives and various costs/fees along with the pros/cons. But, ultimately this is something that only you will be able to answer. Whatever your decision, I am prepared to minimize your tax situation as much as possible.
Do you do bookkeeping?
Bookkeeping services are offered. Some clients bring their statements with them at tax time, which I am able to review and determine the overall effect. However, it is much better to complete them on a regular basis outside of tax season. This gives way to better planning at year-end and more thorough and effective advice throughout the year.
When is my annual report due?
As a business in Florida (and most other states), there is an annual registration/renewal required. The fee in Florida is $150 and must be filed by May 1st every year. You will be emailed in January the reminder to file. Please do not lose this email or forget to file. Late fees and reinstatement fees are expensive. For continuity’s sake, it is best to file the annual report as soon as possible once you receive the email.
